About Me Ms. Elena Guedes da Silva first started teaching Mathematics in Toronto, Canada. She loved teaching so much, that she signed up in the Teacher Certification program at D'Youville College in Buffalo, NY and in 2007 became a certified Mathematics Teacher in both New York State and Ontario province.
In 2007 she got her first job at CMS and moved to Charlotte, but spent the summers in Richmond, VA completing a Master of Education degree at Virginia Commonwealth University. After three years in Charlotte, Ms. Guedes moved to teach at the American School of Sao Paulo. She taught IB courses in Brazil for 2 years, and then one year at a British school in Lima, Peru. She also became an examiner for IB. In 2015, Ms Guedes returned to CMS. Ms Guedes graduated from First English Language High School in Sofia, Bulgaria. In 1999 she received a full academic scholarship to study Computer Science and Mathematics at Saint Peter's University in Jersey City, NJ. She is married and has two daughters. |
